Motif of Eucharistic Chalice in Decorative Carving of Royal Gates of Eastern Podillia

The purpose of the article is to identify and classify royal gates Eastern Podillia with Eucharistic chalice, characterize principles images, determine semantics, outline territorial chronological boundaries spreading motif. research methodology combines methods archival heuristics artistic analysis works. Scientific novelty: for first time, six 18th century a motif originating from iconostasis churches Podillia, are considered. localisation, ornamental context semantics clarified. its in region determined. Conclusions. analysed material confirms that chalices were quite often introduced into decor program they mainly played role organising composition factor since placed symmetrically on lower bar sashes only occasionally sash column.
